Monuments of architecture

The grandiose ensemble of the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery is situated on the shore of Lake Siverskoye. It was formed mainly during two centuries – from the end of the 15th till late 17th centuries. Its total area is about 12 hectares. Behind the mighty monastery walls stretching for almost 2 kilometres there is a whole town consisting of 12 churches and, a number of dwelling and service buildings.
