2013 will mark the 1150th anniversary of the invention of Slavic Writing. It is mentioned in the Primary Chronicle (also known as Tale of Bygone Years) that Cyril and Methodius devised the Glagolitic Alphabet – the first Slavonic alphabet - in 863 and translated the Book of the Epistles and the Gospel. The exhibition “Book Heritage” which presents manuscripts and early printed books from the collection of the Kirillo-Belozersky museum-reserve and its branch - the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes - has been opened on the occasion of this date.

The exhibition “Craft and Masterpieces” was opened on the ground floor of the House of the Father Superior in 2014. Icons and works of decorative and applied arts of the 15th - early 20th centuries from the collection of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve are presented there.

The exhibition “Iconostasis of the Transfiguration Church of 1595” was opened in the Treasury Chamber of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve on December 20, 2014.

The unique exhibition titled “Kind Dolls. Old Fairy Tales” presenting author’s dolls of Marina Vasilieva, People Master of Russia, was opened in the Kirillo-Belozersky museum-reserve in July 2012. Why is it unique? It is because Marina Vasilieva doesn’t have even two identical dolls, every doll is unique.

Table-clothes, napkins, panels and pieces of clothing made by lace-makers of the famous factory “Snowflake” (Vologda) and Nadezhda Alexeevna Sverdlova (Vladimir) are displayed in the exhibition “Magic of Bobbins”.
