B. Lubimov is the rector of the High Theater School n. a. M. Shchepkin, the assistant art director of Maly Theater and the head of the chair of theater history of the Russian Academy of Theater Arts. He was the author of more than 500 scientific works, articles and monographs. His works are dedicated to the history and theory of Russian theater, to immediate problems of Russian theater process and Russian classical repertoire, to the methodology of theatricology, to Russian literature and the history of the Russian Orthodox Church. B. Lubimov is the author and presenter of the television program titled “Reading the Bible” (since 1998) and of radio programs “New languages” and “Act and action”.
His great-great grandfather was the Vologda governor from 1882 till 1892 and developed public education and culture. Through his involvement the first museum of the Vologda government, the House Museum of Peter the Great, was opened. B. Lubimov is the distinguished visitor of the International Festival titled “Voices of History” being held in Vologda.
