The main event was the official opening of the exhibition “From the 21st century to the 17th century. History and Costume” which represents costumes of the film “Schism” directed by Nikolay Dostal and objects from the museum’s collection. M. Sharomazov, the director of the museum opened it. Nikolay Dostal thanked for the employees of the museum and inhabitants of Kirillov for the exhibition and their interest in film.
In the evening the museum participated in the worldwide action “Night at the Museum 2012”. One could visit the Palace of the Father Superior, the gallery of the walls of the 17th century, the Bell-Tower and the museum of the history of the Kirillov district and of the town. 89 visitors took part in this action.
The final of the creativity competition of verses and songs about the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery and the Kirillov district was held on May 19. The participants were pupils of some schools of the Kirillov district, of the Music and Art School and of the Center for Children’s Creative Activity and students of the Vologda Culture College took part in the competition. There were some categories: verses and songs of own composition and verses and songs of local writers and composers. Yana Baldina from the village Nikolsky Torzhok awarded Grand Prix, she performed the song about Russia. The ensemble “Zabavushka” from the same village received Audience Choice Award.
