The action “Night of Arts” will take place in the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes on November 3. It will begin at 18:00 and will last till 23:00. The Nativity of the Virgin Cathedral, the Refectory, and the Church of St. Martinian will be open for visitors during this time. Besides, the museum will arrange some rather unusual events within the framework of the action “Night of Arts”.
Program:
At 18:00 – Master-class “Apprentices of Dionisy”.
You will learn about the outstanding icon-painter of the 15th – early 16th century Dionisy and his heritage - the frescoes in the Nativity of the Virgin Cathedral created in 1502 that are of global value. Besides, you will try to make a fresco according to the ancient technique.

At 20:00 – “Secrets of Tsypina Hill”
It is a walking tour to the top of the mountain - the highest one in the Kirillov district, to the commemorative cross located on the place of the chapel that had been built in honour of Alexander II known as the Liberator after his assassination.

At 21:00 – Visit to the viewing point with a wonderful view onto the Ferapontov Monastery
There is a sightseeing platform on the top of the Tsypina Hill from where you can see a beautiful panorama. With the help of optics, you will be able not only to see the ensemble of the Ferapontov Monastery and the Church of St. Prophet Elijah, but also to admire the night sky over Ferapontovo.

The Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes is situated in the village of Ferapontovo (23 km far from Kirillov and 120 km far from Vologda). The museum complex “Tsypino” is located 1,5 kilometers far from the village of Ferapontovo. Tourists travelling by car can easily get there following the road signs.
