The delegation consisting of Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, and Vladimir Bulavin, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Northwestern Federal District, has visited Kirillov and Ferapontovo today, on July 9. They have come to see the local sights.
The Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes situated within the ensemble of the Ferapontov Monastery – the UNESCO World Heritage Site – was the first point of the tour program. The guests visited the Refectory, went to the Church of St. Martinian, the gate Church of Epiphany and the world-famous Nativity of the Virgin Cathedral with the frescoes of Dionisy painted in 1502. Then the delegation went to Kirillov. During the visit to the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, they saw the main exhibitions in the House of the Father Superior and the Refectory, went to the Assumption Cathedral and the Church of St. Kirill.
