Guests of the festival “Illusions of Old Village” will get a chance to return to the previous century in Ferapontovo on June 13 within the framework of the annual fair.
People will see a wonderful illusion near the walls of the Ferapontov Monastery at noon: the old village of 1915 will revive before their eyes. You will be able to meet with local residents of the early 20th century.
The program of the holiday that will last from noon till 15:00 includes:
- a theatricalized opening ceremony;
- performances of folk music and dance groups;
- scenes from the village life of the early 20th century;
- children’s amusements and Russian folk games;
- a village lottery;
- a traditional Russian tea party;
- a master-class in wax candle making.
Besides, a potter, a smith and a lace-maker will tell you about secrets of their crafts and will showcase their skills.
During the festival, you will be able to have your pictures taken in the photo salon, to see exhibitions in the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes, to make a tour of the Old Village and to play gorodki – an ancient Russian folk game.
