There are about two weeks left till the beginning of the Festival of Historical Reenactment “Kirillo-Belozersky Siege”. But visitors of the museum already have a chance to learn about the epoch of ancient warriors. The exhibition titled “Military Valour of Centuries” has been opened in the Vologda Tower.
It presents unique examples of ancient defensive arms, armour and arms of the Russian and Polish warriors, warriors of the Golden Horde and West-European knights.
They were made using archeological finds and museum exhibits of the State Historical Museum, the Armory Museum, the Hermitage, the Kulikovo Field Museum, and expositions of some European museums. These sets of arms have undergone real field tests at military and historical festivals, jousting tournaments and mass battles held in full-contact – buhurts.
Many people have visited this display over the last years, but it is still interesting for them. The exhibition “Military Valour of Centuries” is organized by the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, the public organization “Tula City Youth Club of Historical Reconstruction and Fencing” and the Russian Military Historical Society.
Its opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Am entrance ticket costs 120 rubles. A ticket for pensioners costs 100 rubles. Admission for children (under 18) is free.
