By tradition, the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve and its branch – the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes - will join the International Action “Night at the Museum” scheduled for May 16. The permanent and temporary exhibitions will be open for visitors free of charge on Saturday evening. The full program of the action is presented below.

Opening ceremony of the display of children’s drawings “Great Patriotic War in History of My Family”.
Award ceremony of the winners of the contests timed to the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
At 18:00 in the House of the Father Superior
Master-class “Russian Calligraphy”. A ticket costs 50 rubles. Age category: 7+
At 18:00 in the Cook-house
1. “Architectural Fantasy” (quilling). Age category: 7+
2. “Flowers of Victory” (salty dough). Age category: 5+

Tours of the museum permanent exhibitions will begin at 19:00, 20:00 and 21:00.

3. “At Twilight of a Church” in the Assumption Cathedral
The exhibition “Monk’s Cell” will be open till 20:00. Visitors will be able to see the interior of the dwelling of a usual monk in the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery. Admission during the action (from 18:00 to 20:00) is free.
The viewing platform of the Bell-tower and the galleries of the walls will be open till 22:00. A ticket during the action costs 50 rubles.

at 18:00 – presentation of the books from the holdings of the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes within the framework of the Year of Literature in Russia. Visitors will be able to see books of different centuries, electronic versions of the early printed books and to learn about their history.
Parvis of the Refectory. Admission is free.
at 18:30 – opening of the display “History of One Exhibit – Gusli”. The gusli is the most ancient and popular musical instrument of the Russian people.
at 19:00 – Angelina Gorbunova will present some folk-tunes for visitors playing the gusli.
Parvis of the Nativity of the Virgin Cathedral. A ticket costs 50 rubles.
at 20:00 – museum lesson “Ligature Script of the Name”
The Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes presents a new master-class titled “Ligature Script of the Name” in 2015 that is announced the Year of Literature in Russia. By the example of the Dionisy’s frescoes in the Nativity of the Virgin Cathedral and the icon-painting of the 15th-16th centuries, you will learn about this Cyrillic ornate lettering, its main principles and principles of its use in the icon-painting of the Dionisy’s school. During the lesson, you will be told about the origin and meaning of Russian names, will write your own names with pen and ink and will create unique initials.
