Museumfication of the monuments is being realized at the same time. One of the most interesting architectural buildings of the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery is the Monks’ cells. In the process of its restoration architects and restorers managed to discover complicated structure of this dwelling house of the 17th-19th centuries.
Exhibitions dedicated to the folk applied art and handicrafts of the Belozersk district are placed in the spacious vaulted chambers of the monastery cook-house of the 16th century. An important place is occupied by wood-carving, ceramics, peasant embroidery, weaving, lace-making and a folk female costume of the 19th-early 20th centuries.

The display of the best works of the children attending the fine arts studio “Tchereda” was opened in the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes. It summed up the lessons that had been conducted during the whole school year.

Visitors can see over 30 drawings of the pupils: Alexandra Orekhova and Semyon Orekhov, Yegor Trubnikov and Sveta Trubnikova, Natasha Nikolaeva, Olya Fetisova, Ilya Ivanov, Nastya Doronicheva, Natasha Toropova, Sonya Parshukova, Lisa Yegorova, Darina Chashchina, Sonya Anokhina, Masha Morova, Kolya Belov and Varvara Yershova.

This year the children have got acquainted with antique and medieval art, have fulfilled different tasks on these subjects, have visited the exhibitions of painting, drawing and mosaic, and have acquired new theoretic and practical skills.

The drawings presented in the administrative building of the museum are made in various techniques. Their subjects are also different – some works are about the history of art, the others have been painted based on the impressions of the permanent and temporary exhibitions in the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes. Temporary exhibitions give extraordinary wide educational material both in the artistic and technical plan. For example, the children learnt about the ancient mosaic methods and met with the artist from Moscow at the display of painting and mosaic of Anna Zamula “NATURE – LIVE!”.

Special attention in the training process of the fine arts studio is paid to the history of art as the basis of artistic education. These lessons can be called “practical history” because the pupils get tasks fixing the lectures after each subject. For example, the exhibition presents the gallery of the Fayum mummy portraits based on the Greco-Roman examples of the 1st - 3rd centuries that were creatively revised by the children. The Greek vase painting is reflected in the works made in the technique of the drawing on wax put on the colour basis. Water-colour sketches of stained glass remind of the gothic style. The medieval frescoes are represented with the outline drawings of the archangels that the children created in the parvis of the Nativity of the Virgin Cathedral. This exhibition is one more new stage in the pupils’ life. It shows the improvement of their artistic level, inner freedom and love of painting.

The Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes wishes all members of the studio new talented works and pleasure in communicating with the world of art!
