The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve will host the First Russian and Chinese Festival of Russian Song from June 10 to 12, 2015.
The choir “International” from Guangzhou (People’s Republic of China) will take part in it and will perform with the songs of the Great Patriotic War and Russian folk songs.
The town of Kirillov will be represented by:
- the choir of pupils of the Kirillov Children’s Art School (under the direction of Olga Chechanicheva);
- the ensemble of veterans of the Vologda Regional Training School of Culture, the ensembles “Northern Frescoes” and “Light Chamber” (under the direction of Svetlana Zavarina, Honoured Art Worker of the RF);
- the Cossack Ensemble “Silver Horseshoe” (under the direction of Alexander Moskvin and Svetlana Zavarina);
- the veterans’ ensemble “Golden Age” (under the direction of Anatoly Panichev);
- the veterans’ ensemble of the Kirillov School “How Young We Were” (under the direction of Ninel Fokina).
The evening of friendship and the tea ceremony will take place in the galleries of the walls on June 10. Besides, the district and town authorities will give a reception in honour of the Chinese guests on June 12.
The festival will culminate in the gala concert that will be held on the main stage of the museum on the Day of Russia celebrated on June 12. The program will be concluded with mass singing of the song “Katyusha”.
