Fairy tales and epics, folk songs and humorous rhymes, live music and sand animation – can all this be united in one event? It turns out that it is possible.
The participants of the 14th Moscow Easter Festival of Valery Gergiev presented the concert program “Popular Prints” to residents of Kirillov. Both adults and children were interested in what was happening on the scene.
People’s Artist of Russia Viktor Nikitin and musician Olga Yegorova were masters of ceremonies. They told the spectators about the adventures of Foma and Eryoma, the birds Alkonost, Syrin and Gamayun, the cunning cat Vaska, Russian bogatyr Ilya Muromets. The ancient stories were accompanied with music compositions executed by the soloists of the ensemble “Russian Rhapsody” and sand scenes created by animation artist Alina Trofimova. Marina Korchagina sang folk songs and humorous rhymes. People were charmed with what they saw and heard.
The audience extended a warm welcome to the Moscow guests. Local inhabitants already knew some of them thanks to the previous performances. For example, Yevgeny Volchkov, artistic director of the ensemble “Russian Rhapsody”, and gusli player Pavel Lukoyanov took part in the action “Night at the Museum 2014”. Young spectators will also remember this concert because they have got a chance to create their own sand pictures.
The Fourth Easter Festival “Low Sunday” held from April 12 to 22 is over. But the museum plans to organize a lot of interesting events in future. The next ones will be about the main date of the year - the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Their program has already been posted on the website.
