Director and documentarian Sergey Golovetsky came to Kirillov. His movies “The Secret of June 22” and “Vladimir Vysotsky. Uninterrupted Flight” were screened in the conference hall of the museum.
Before the presentation of the first film offering a new hypothesis about the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, Sergey Golovetsky spoke with the spectators. He asked them first, “This year we will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. 70 years – is it many or few? What do you think?” The opinions were divided: this period of time seemed long for children and short – for adults. The director shared his opinion with the audience, “We live in such a historical period when the viewpoint on the events of that time begin to change. 70 years is that very distance when the Great Patriotic War can be considered from different sides. The film titled “The Secret of June 22” is based on the book of writer and historian Alexander Osokin. His father went through the whole war and participated in the parade of 1945 in Moscow. This film presents a private opinion of the causes of war”.
Spectators could see the documentary materials shot in the prewar years in Germany, England and the Soviet Union. Top public officials and influential political figures, military men and average citizens appeared on the screen. The last didn’t even know that war would burst into their life soon. The official newsreel uncovered the politics played by the heads of state between each other. Redivision of the world resulted in the great tragedy.
The second film of Sergey Golovetsky was about Vladimir Vysotsky. It tells about the attitude to the creative work of the Soviet singer-songwriter in the Scandinavian countries. It has turned out that residents of Sweden, Norway and Finland know his songs and translate them into their native languages to be able to sing them on the scene.
And tomorrow, on April 17, museum visitors will be able to see the one-man performance “The Last Night of the Last Tsar” – a story of love, forgiveness and repentance. It will begin at 18:30. A ticket costs 50 rubles; admission for children, students and pensioners is free.
