How can you a write a good book? How can you become a famous writer? What impact does the work on the books have? Famous Russian writer Pavel Basinsky answered these and other questions of local people during the meeting that was held in the conference hall of the museum on April 14. This event was organized within the framework of the Fourth Easter Festival “Low Sunday”.
Prose writer and literary critic Pavel Basinsky has been an observer of “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” for more than 10 years. His first book was published in 1993 – it was a collection of articles and reviews “Subjects and Faces”. He became a member of the Union of Russian Writers at the same time.
The list of Pavel Basinsky’s works includes the books about separate episodes from the biographies of Leo Tolstoy and Maxim Gorky. They are based on the archival documents, but the presentation manner of the gathered material gives a chance for readers to look at the great Russian writers from a different perspective. The author tells about their fates pushing their career to the sidelines.
Pavel Basinsky commented on his trilogy about Leo Tolstoy in such a way, “Tolstoy is a man in my books”. Spectators listened to his talk about the view of life and uneasy relationship with his relatives, saw various photos and asked questions.
The Fourth Easter Festival “Low Sunday” is going on. A meeting with director and documentarian Sergey Golovetsky is scheduled for April 15. His two films “The Secret of June 22” and “Vladimir Vysotsky. Uninterrupted Flight” will be presented in the museum today.
