The action titled #MuseumWeek has started in Twitter today. Over 1400 museums from 50 countries registered in this social networking service, including the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, are participating in it.
The action will last for a week – from March 23 to 29. Every day will be about a certain subject. Museums from all over the world will tell Twitter users about them and their everyday work, the history of museum buildings and souvenir produce, and will communicate with subscribers and colleagues. They don’t need write tweets every day, they can choose this or that day to discuss a certain topic. Special hashtags have been prepared for every day. They will give a chance for users to find information they are interested in much quicker.
The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve will take part in the action twice – on March 25 and 27. History of museum buildings will be in the spotlight on Wednesday. Everything that makes visits to the museum more pleasant for families and school groups will be discussed on Friday.
Everybody who wants can join the museum discussion. You are just to be registered in Twitter. Subscribers’ active participation in the talk is welcome.
The #MuseumWeek action was initiated by specialists of the PR sphere from France in collaboration with the Twitter team. This event was first held in 2014 when 630 museums from 20 countries participated in it.
