Inhabitants of Kirillov answered different questions about the history and the present of the native town. Two games titled “Intellect Boom” were held in the Youth Centre “Alfa” within the framework of the project “It is My Town”.
All participants had a chance to prepare for the contest – its subjects were posted in the social networking site “Vkontakte” beforehand. In all, there were 10 of them: “Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery”, “People of the Past”, “Streets”, “People of the Present”, “Observation”, “Merchants”, “Latest News”, “Bright Town Life”, “History of Kirillov”, and “Secret Topic”. It was a team competition, but the victory depended on each member of the team.
How many churches are there in the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery? What is the patronymic name of the head of the Kirillov district? How many former merchants’ houses are located in Gostinodvorskaya Street? When does the “Camomile Ball” take place in Kirillov? Who is depicted in the photo? The contestants had to answer various questions of presenter Ekaterina Bokina without hesitation.
The first game – for children – took place on February 14. Nine teams participated in it. “Four Whales” consisting of Denis Solovyov, Anastasia Kotova, Arina Kornilova and Yana Sashina claimed a win.
Four groups – “Local Residents”, “Youth”, “Girls” and “Alfa For the Win” – competed in the second game that was held yesterday, on February 17. Their members really had to hesitate only answering some questions. It means that they know almost everything about their native town. As a result, “Local Residents” (Sergey Bokin, Natalya Bokina, Irina Sizova, Olga Domashina) took the first place.
The winners of both games were given prizes from the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve. All participants received magnets with the views of the architectural monuments in Kirillov.
