The meeting with the writer and journalist Dmitry Shevarov will take place in the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve on Monday, February 16. This event will begin in the conference hall at 15:00.
The prose writer and essayist Dmitry Shevarov was born in Siberia, but spent his childhood in Vologda. He began his career of a journalist in the newspaper “Vologodsky Komsomolets”. Then he worked in the editorial staff of the newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, the magazines “Novy Mir”, “Ural”, “Smena”, “Druzhba Narodov”, and “Znamya”. Now Dmitry Shevarov is an observer of “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”. He will present his short film “Poets of 1812” in Kirillov.
Dmitry Shevarov wrote the books of prose “Grass Dwellers” (2000), “For Life-Giving Water” (2001), “Lit by the Sun” (2004), “Kind Faces” (2010), the anthology “It is Good at Home” (2010), “A Year with Russian Poets” (2010), “Landing Place. Diary of Russian Poetry” (2013), “Golden Night” (2013), the collection of children’s stories “Light in a Golden Cap” (2013).
The book “12 Poets of 1812” was published in 2014 and was very popular with readers. It tells about “the life, verses and adventures of the Russian poets during the Patriotic War of 1812”. One of the central figures is famous Vologda’s poet Konstantin Batyushkov. However, the whole book contains motives, names and events of Vologda.
The meeting with Dmitry Shevarov will be held within the framework of the new cycle “Foreign Evenings in Kirillov”. The first event with participation of the film director Lidia Bobrova took place in autumn 2014.
