The 17th Exhibition-Fair of Russia’s National Crafts “Ladya. Winter Fairy-Tale 2014” was held at Expocentre Fairgrounds in Moscow from December 17 to 21, 2014. Over 1500 enterprises from 60 regions of Russia participated in it. Their list included folk art centres, individual craftsmen, and even a number of educational institutions.
The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve was the only museum that joined in the event. It was represented by People’s Artist of Russia Marina Vasilieva in three directions: articles of black ceramics, mobile terra cotta dolls and puppets, calligraphy.
The museum exposition was very popular with guests and participants of the fair. 8500 people saw the museum stand. 16 master-classes in black ceramics “Belozersk Boot” were delivered there. Chinese tourists were amazed at the calligraphy of the 11th century.
Over 60 thousand residents and guests of Moscow attended the fair. It got massive mass media coverage.
G.A. Drozhzhin, President of the Association of Russian Folk Artistic Crafts, addressed a letter to museum director Mikhail Sharomazov. It says, “I would like to praise skills and professionalism of the project executors. Your activity aimed at preservation and presentation of history, culture and traditions of the Belozersk region deserves respect and support. Masters and artists, heads of Russian crafts hope for your further invaluable help and sincere participation in the difficult fate of folk artistic crafts within the last years”.
The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve has first taken part in this exhibition-fair. By the way, it is quite real to develop the directions of folk artistic crafts presented by People’s Artist of Russia Marina Vasilieva at Expocentre Fairgrounds. Museum lessons are regularly conducted in the club-studio of miniature “Doll’s House”.
