The project “It is My Town” started in October 2014 and it continues gathering pace now. The main November event was a town racing game titled “Running Town”. Working youth took part in it last week. Ten teams applied for participation; each of them consisted of 2 to 5 persons.

“This event is held so that residents of Kirillov and the Kirillov district could learn something new about our town or could solidify their knowledge. During the first game, representatives of the working youth fulfilled tasks at the control points located near the architectural monuments of Kirillov. Alexander Polkovnikov, Deputy Mayor of Kirillov, greeted the participants before the beginning of the competition. He wished them an interesting game and positive emotions. Volunteers of the Youth Centre “Alfa” and young amateur photographers helped the organizers of the event. We hope that in spite of the cold weather, the competitors had a good time and learnt something new and interesting about our town,” noted Alyona Vetrova, participant of the project.

Representatives of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve took an active part in “Running Town” and coped with all the tasks. The close-knit team called “Museum Employees” that consisted of Elena Ikvils, Svetlana Veselova, Galina Koryagina, Anna Kalikina and Valery Stepanov finished first and was awarded a diploma and a special prize.

The second game is scheduled for November 29. Pupils will join in it.
