The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve will take part in the 16th International Festival “Intermuseum 2014”. It will be held in the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall (Moscow) from June 3 to 9, 2014.
During many years, the “Intermuseum” Festival has been serving the purpose of professional development of museum affairs in Russia, forming the idea of traditions and new tendencies, practices and techniques in the activity of a modern museum. The subject of the forthcoming event is “Museum to the Digital Epoch”.
The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve will take an active part in the competition program of the festival. The results of the first stage have already been announced in the following nominations: “Grand Prix”, “Museum Environment – Art to Create”, “Museum Holdings – to Preserve and to Display”, “Museum – Regional Centre of Attraction”, “Museum in the Information Space”.
Two projects of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve have reached the second stage. One of them is ‘Wireless control system of temperature and humidity conditions “Wi-climate™”. It was installed in six monuments of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery, including the Dormition Cathedral. Another project is “Iconostasis of the Dormition Cathedral” in Moscow and “Icons Painted by the Masters of the Tsar's Court” in Kirillov. It was implemented within the framework of the cooperation of the Moscow Kremlin Museums and the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve: two museums exchanged the exhibits for temporary displays. Thanks to this project, the exhibition “Iconostasis of the Dormition Cathedral of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery” was open in Moscow and people in Kirillov could see the display “Icons Painted by the Masters of the Tsar’s Court”.
The second part of the competition will be held during the festival itself. The projects will be presented to the jury in the public meeting hall. The judges will estimate them and determine the winner.
