“History of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery”
Where: the Refectory with the Church of the Presentation of the Virgin in the Temple

Over 300 exhibits tell visitors about the many-sided history of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery. One of the most important subjects is life and activity of the outstanding church and political figure – St. Kirill Belozersky. People can get acquainted with the inner life of the monastery and its communal charter in a special hall.
They can also learn how the cloister developed and grew, who patronized it, for whom it became a place of exile, when its decline started.
This permanent exhibition differs from all the rest in the museum thanks to the combination of the items of different historical epochs with up-to-date multimedia means.
“Star Most Bright”
(the image of the Virgin of the 18th – 19th centuries from the tempera painting collection of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve).

The exhibition presents 52 icons of the Virgin in her numerous iconography. Created in the modern age, they reflected not only new artistic solutions that appeared in the Russian painting under the influence of the West-European art, but also centuries-old traditions of Russian icon-painting of the previous centuries. Almost all icons are displayed for the first time.
“Craft and Masterpieces”
Where: the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve. The House of the Father Superior
Opening hours: from 09:00 to 18:00, every day from May 1 to September 30
About 200 items from the museum holdings are exhibited in five halls. The main goal of the new exposition is to show development of culture in the Belozersk district, artistic craftwork on the base of museum articles demonstrating the Russian church art of the 16th – early 20th centuries.
“We Are Eternal Tenderness of Each Other…”
(the exhibition dedicated to the memory of Ivan Timofeevich and Olga Ivanovna Andreevs)
Where: the Museum of Town and District History at 103 Gagarin Street
Opening hours: from 09:00 to 18:00. The exhibition will be open till the middle of June 2014.
Ivan Timofeevich and Olga Ivanovna Andreevs were well-known in the cultural life of Kirillov. They made an important contribution to the historical and cultural heritage of the Vologda region. Their daughters, relatives, friends, colleagues and pupils came to the opening ceremony of the exhibition. They could not only see photographs, documents and personal things, but also listen to saxophone music performed by Viktor Khabarov (Archangelsk).
“On Occasion of 70th birthday of Lieutenant General Leonid Alexeevich Shivdyakov”
Where: the Museum of Town and District History at 103 Gagarin Street
Opening hours: from 09:00 to 18:00. The exhibition will be open till the middle of June 2014.
The small exhibition was opened on the occasion of the birthday of Lieutenant General Leonid Alexeevich Shivdyakov, native of the Kirillov district. It presents the personal things that he handed over to the museum.
