The traditional festival “Illusions of Old Village” that many people like very much will take place during the fair in Ferapontovo on June 14. It is organized by the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes. The festival will begin at noon. It is known that a famous singer of romances of the 19th-20th centuries will come to the event.
The program of the holiday will include: a concert in which folk music and dance groups will perform for the guests; a photo display entitled “Faces of the Village”; children’s amusements and games, a prizes-for-all lottery, and a traditional Russian tea party.
Besides, a contest for the best historical costume of the early 20th century will be organized during the festival. Guests who will be dressed in the stylized costumes of the early 20th century will be able to take part in a village fashion show and to get prizes.
A potter, a cooper, a smith and a lace-maker will tell you about secrets of their crafts and will showcase their skills.
During the festival, you will be able to have your pictures taken in the photo salon, to see museum exhibitions, to make a tour of the Old Village (it will begin at 14:00 near the main entrance to the monastery), and to play folk games.
