The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve and the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes continue receiving distinguished guests. The delegation consisting of Konstantin Nefedov, Consul of the Russian Federation in Switzerland, Rainer Vollkommer, director of the National Museum of Liechtenstein, and Alex Doll, honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts, went to see Kirillov and Ferapontovo. They got acquainted with several exhibitions and had walking tours of the museum grounds. The guests also visited the Assumption Cathedral and the Church of St. Kirill in Kirillov and the Church of St. Martinian and the Nativity of the Virgin Cathedral in Ferapontovo.
Mr. Rainer Vollkommer signed the Distinguished Visitors’ Book in the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes: “The visit to the monastery and the wonderful frescoes made a great impression on me. The delegation of the Russian Consulate in Switzerland is on an official visit to the Vologda region. It is connected with the opening of the exhibition “Stamps of Principality of Liechtenstein. History of One Project” in Vologda. The display organized by the National Museum of Liechtenstein and the Modern Art Gallery “Red Bridge” marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Liechtenstein.
According to the information of the website cultinfo.ru, the exposition includes 28 series of the stamps of different years. The oldest one among them was issued in 1937. The display consists of three blocks. The first one gives a chance to trace the history of postage stamps in Liechtenstein. The second one includes the series “In the Footsteps of A.V. Suvorov in Switzerland” consisting of 10 stamps of the Post of Liechtenstein. It was issued in 2014 by the Philatelic Service of Liechtenstein on the occasion of the 215th anniversary of the Alexander Suvorov’s crossing of the Alps. 10 pictures of artist Alex Doll were placed on them. The third block presents a stamp issued by the Post of Liechtenstein on the occasion of the 22nd Winter Olympics in Sochi. It was created using the sketches of Russian artists Alex Doll and Natalya Brovko who claimed a win in the contest for the best project of the postage stamp about the Olympic Games.
