Employees of the Department of Visitor Relations organized one more trip within the framework of the program “Museum – to the Vologda region”. They went to the Secondary School named after Admiral A.M. Kalinin in Sheksna. This school was founded in the late 19th century. In 2009, the educational institution was given the status of the “Digital school of the 21st century”. Over 1000 pupils attend it. Various events were prepared for them by the museum employees.
Elementary school pupils made an Easter card in the iris folding technique under the direction of A.N. Repina, L.N. Akimova and T.V. Usova. Third-formers played Russian folk games from the “Magic box” together with T.V. Trubnikova. Fifth-form boys and girls were interested in the lectures of N.I. Khrulyova about the lives of saints of the Belozersk region. M.N. Travnikova gave presentations “Artists about the War” and “The Image of Woman in Fine Art” to the senior pupils. The schoolchildren of Sheksna learnt a lot of new things about the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery thanks to O.G. Kuzmichyova. A.V. Tsvetkov told about the exhibition “Great Tsar’s Stronghold” that was open during the whole day. Everybody who wanted could even try on historical costumes.
At the end of the visit to Sheksna, the museum employees went to see the Centre of History and Culture where they got acquainted with the exhibitions and admired a wonderful winter garden.
