The 12th Theatrical Festival “Voices of History” will take place in the Vologda region from June 24 to July 2, 2014. This event was founded in 1991 as a show of performances staged by professional theatres and presented in the historical and architectural setting. The main stage of the festival that has become the landmark of the region is the area of the Vologda State Museum-Preserve.
Famous and new Russian theatres have participated in it within this time: the “P.N. Fomenko Workshop” Moscow theatre, the Nikitsky Gate Theatre, the Moscow Academic Mayakovsky Theatre, the Central Academic Theatre of the Russian Army, the Roman Viktyuk Theatre, the Lensoviet Academic Theatre, the Maly Drama Theatre, the Vakhtangov Theatre, the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater, the Novgorod Academic Drama Theatre named after F.M. Dostoevsky, the Youth Theatre named after Mustai Karim, the Komi-Permyak National Drama Theatre named after M. Gorky, the theatre-studio “SounDrama”, and theatres of the near abroad and far abroad countries - Ukraine, Belarus, Italy, Greece, the USA, and Poland.
It has become known recently that the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve will become of the venues for the festival. According to preliminary information, it is planned to present two performances in Kirillov.
