The project “Museums of the Kirillov district” will come to an end in a month. During many weeks, the teams have taken an active part in the offered events, master-classes and interactive museum lessons and they continue doing it.
It is worth reminding that eight teams went on a tour of the museums located in the Kirillov district in November 2013. Every team has its own itinerary. They are to see the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes, the Museum of Town and District History, the Museum of Kirillov Accordion and the Museum of Hero of the Soviet Union Yevgeny Preobrazhensky in the Volokoslavinskoe settlement, the House of Bread and the Picture Gallery in the Talitsy settlement, and a small museum in the village Sukhoverkhovo. Specialists of the National Park “Russian North” joined in the project as well.
In April, all teams have a wonderful opportunity to get acquainted with history of the native region visiting master-classes of local craftsmen. Museum travelers will be able to learn secrets of birch-bark weaving, lace-making, painting on wood, smithery, pottery and to try to create their own simple articles.
The final of the project “Museums of the Kirillov district” is scheduled for May 2014 when the jury is due to sum up the results and to name the winner.
