The annual holiday “In Snow of Kirillov” took place over the last weekend. The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve joined in the main events of the town and arranged an entertaining program for local residents and guests on February 22. It was titled “Snowy Town”.
Families with children mainly visited the museum on that day. They participated in the playing program and various contests: painted on snow, threw rings, climbed through improvised tunnels, fought using pillows, and so on. The whole families attended the master-classes that were delivered in the museum expositions. People were pleased to create folk dolls of yarn, horses of bast, souvenir felt-boots of coloured wool, and to make a chainmail. Those who wanted to learn secrets of poetry came to the “Doll’s House” of People’s Artist of Russia Marina Vasilieva. They turned pots on the wheel. And though it was sometimes difficult, everybody managed to create an own hand-made clay article. All expositions and exhibitions of the museum were open on that day. Besides, visitors could ascend the Bell Tower and the walls.
The next holiday - “Farewell to Maslenitsa” - will be held in the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve this Sunday, on March 2.
