The picture “Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery” painted by Sergey Andriaka, master of water-colour painting, was included into the exhibition of his works presented in Sochi.
The artist told the following about this picture: “I created my own image on the basis of the real monastery. A careful viewer can notice that my monastery is not the exact copy of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery in proportions and architectural details. It is my sight of Ancient Russia”.
The exposition consists of over 50 works. Most of them were painted in water-colours on the artist’s favourite subjects and genres: landscapes of Russia, floral still lifes, sea motives. There are several genre art pieces.
The exhibition will be open in the halls of the Ostrovsky Literary and Memorial Museum within the cultural program of Sochi 2014 till March 28.
People’s Artist of Russia Sergey Andriaka visited the Vologda region several times: his exhibitions and master-classes took place in Vologda and Cherepovets. Besides, the display “Russian Drawing and Water-Colour from the Collection of Vologda Regional Picture Gallery” was open in the museum and exhibition complex of the Sergey Andriaka Water Colour School in Moscow in autumn 2013.
