The photo display titled “Unfading Light” dedicated to the memory of Tatiana Tserkovnitskaya, wonderful person, talented teacher, honorary freeman of Kirillov and donator of the museum, was opened in the Museum of Town and District History on Friday, January 24. Over 40 people attended the opening ceremony.
The event began with the romance composed to the verses of Innokenty Annensky. Besides, the guests got a chance to listen to the favourite songs of Tatiana Tserkovnitskaya performed by L.V. Terebova, head of the Scientific Department. Y.A. Lebedeva, head of the Exposition and Exhibition Department, recited the poem “Evening” written by Ivan Bunin. The tour of the photo display was organized in an interesting way – visitors could see the exhibits, keeping seat. Photographs were presented on a large screen and L.I. Glysina, research officer of the Scientific Department, told about all of them in detail. People could also see video recordings of the meetings in which veterans of the cultural school took part in 1997 and 2008 and where Tatiana Tserkovnitskaya recited the verses of Bulat Okudzhava, Sergey Orlov and other poets. They were made by N.V. Borovikov, resident of Kirillov who also taught in the Vologda Regional Cultural and Educational School (now the Vologda Regional Training School of Culture).
Tatiana Tserkovnitskaya holds a special place among donators of the Kirillo-Belozersky museum-reserve. For the first time during 90 years of its existence, the museum was given a unique monument of history and culture – a wooden house with an attic built in the 19th century and an adjacent plot of land with the ancient garden. The fact that representatives of one family – the Tserkovnitskys - have lived in this house within the whole century and have managed to preserve the ancient furniture and the family archive, evidences the exceptional historical value of this gift. After renovation and restoration, the house of the Tserkovnitskys will serve for preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of the Kirillov land.
The exhibition in loving memory of Tatiana Tserkovnitskaya will be open in the Museum of Town and District History till February 28.
