History of the region based on the materials of archeological excavations” is being opened on the lowest floor of the Church of the Presentation of the Virgin in the Temple with the refectory. It is the first full exhibition representing archaeology of the Belozersk district in the Vologda Region. Materials of the monastery archeology are displayed for the first time in our region. More than 4000 archeological objects dating back to different chronological periods are represented there: from the Mesolithic period (9000 B.C.) till the late Middle Ages.
At the end of the 20th – early 21st century considerable restoration work has been carried out in the Kirillo-Belozersky museum-reserve. Museumfication of the monuments is being realized at the same time. One of the most interesting architectural buildings of the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery is the Monks’ cells. In the process of its restoration architects and restorers managed to discover complicated structure of this dwelling house of the 17th-19th centuries.
Exhibitions dedicated to the folk applied art and handicrafts of the Belozersk district are placed in the spacious vaulted chambers of the monastery cook-house of the 16th century. An important place is occupied by wood-carving, ceramics, peasant embroidery, weaving, lace-making and a folk female costume of the 19th-early 20th centuries.

15:00 - opening ceremony of the display of photos created by the participants of the contest “The Most Interesting Photograph” organized on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the foundation of the Kirillo-Belozersky Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve. A ticket costs 15 rubles.

January 3

12:00 - master-class “Secrets of Cyrillic alphabet”. You will be able to get acquainted with the Cyrillic alphabet, to discover the origin of letters, to learn to write with a pen and ink, and to decipher a secret message written by the enlighteners of the Slavs to their remote descendants. A ticket costs 50 rubles, for pensioners – 30 rubles, for children – 10 rubles.

January 4

12:00 - museum lesson in batik painting on the subject “Architecture of the Ferapontov Monastery in decorative and applied arts”. A ticket costs 50 rubles, for pensioners – 30 rubles, for children – 10 rubles.

14:00 - quest-tour “In search of a secret room”. Everybody will be able to visit the Church of Annunciation (1531) and its belfry and to get to mysterious atmosphere, going along dark narrow stairs and looking for a real secret room. Having discovered it, participants of the quest-tour will find a treasure in the hiding-place with centuries-old history – a box with the monastery treasury. A ticket costs 25 rubles if the group consists of less than 15 people.

January 5

12:00 - museum lesson “Psalter – main teaching book in Ancient Russia”. You will be able to familiarize yourself with the “higher” book used to teach reading and writing in Ancient Russia, will write the first psalm in Church Slavonic with dip pen and ink and will learn its significance. A ticket costs 50 rubles, for pensioners – 30 rubles, for children – 10 rubles.

January 6

16:00 - puppet-show of the Nativity - a traditional Christmas performance presented with the help of puppets in a special wooden box. A master-class will be delivered at the end of the show. A ticket costs 50 rubles.

January 7

12:00 - quest-tour “In search of a secret room”. A ticket costs 25 rubles if the group consists of less than 15 people.

16:30 - puppet-show of the Nativity and master-class. A ticket costs 50 rubles.
