The project “Museums of the Kirillov district” was first presented to the local residents in November 2012. Eight teams consisting of pupils, colleagues, and the whole families participated in it. Most of them successfully followed the offered rules and visited the district museums till May 2013 when the results were summed up.
The new stage of the project started last Sunday. “Eight teams have applied for participation in this year’s project”, said its curator Yevgeny Kivelev. “Two represent the Goritsy school: “Merry Eight” (pupils of the 8th form) and “Beloosero” (sixth-formers). Three are from the Kirillov school: “Researchers” (pupils of the 2nd form), “Sivertsy” (sixth-formers) and “New Generation” (pupils of the 7th- 9th forms). One team consists of students of the Vologda Regional Training School of Culture (their specialization is “Tourism”). Two teams – “Sources” (the Yerofeevs) and “I am a Volunteer” (the Youth Center “Alfa”) - will take part in the project for the second year running”.
Almost no changes have been made in the rules in comparison with the last year’s project. From November 2013 to May 2014, all teams are to visit the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes, the Museum of Town and District History, the Museum of Kirillov Accordion and the Museum of Hero of the Soviet Union Yevgeny Preobrazhensky in the Volokoslavinskoe settlement, the House of Bread and the Picture Gallery in the Talitsy settlement, a small museum in the village Sukhoverkhovo, and the National Park “Russian North”. Interesting programs will be prepared for them there. Besides, the teams will be able to attend lessons conducted by local craftsmen: Olga Pestereva (birch bark weaving), Nina Kuznetsova (lace-making), Marina Pogorelskaya (painting on wood), Nikolay Mitin (smithcraft), Viktor Tyulin (pottery) and Lyudmila Korobova (weaving).
Every team will have its own itinerary marked in a special register - “Chronicles of Tour”. The participants will also give a detailed description of their visits, sharing their own impressions and fulfilling different tasks. During the whole “tour”, the teams will not only get acquainted with the history of the native region, but will also gain points. They will help to determine a winner of the project next spring.
