The exhibition titled “Komsomol is Not Just Age, Komsomol is Fate” was opened in the Youth Centre “Alfa” within the framework of the celebrations of the 95th anniversary of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League. Its visitors can see various documents of that period when all young people took an active part in the social and political life of the country. These are Komsomol cards, words of Komsomol songs, different diplomas, photos of local activists. The exhibits are given by the Archives Department of the Kirillov District Administration and the Archive and Manuscript Section of the Kirillo-Belozersky museum-reserve.
“The opening ceremony of the display was held on the eve of the first rally of leaders of the children’s public associations. Former Komsomol members of Kirillov – Vladimir Shachin and Evgenia Malkova - attended the event. They told children what the Komsomol was and said that they should be as active as they were”, noted Svetlana Kartashova, director of the Youth Centre “Alfa”.
It is planned that the exhibition will be open in the centre till late November and then it will be moved to the Kirillov District Administration.
