The event organized by employees of the Department of Visitor Relations together with the Orthodox Centre of Social Support named after St. Jacob of Kirillov (opened in the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery) was held within the framework of the new program “Merry Museum” on May 10. The program was timed to the Easter Week. Children and their parents were pleased to ring the bells at the belfry of the Church of St. Euthymius the Great, having got a blessing. Father Daniil, monk of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery, showed everybody ways of tolling and performed several variants of bell-ringing. O.G. Kuzmichyova told the guests about the use of bells, their symbolic meaning and application.
On visiting the exhibition “World of Bells” housed in the bell tower of the 18th century, the children got acquainted with the museum collection of bells and shaft-bow bells. Then everybody had a good time in the conference hall where both children and adults played Easter games under the direction of N.V. Petrova. Those games where Easter eggs were used were the most popular ones.
At the end of the meeting, the children and their parents had tea with Easter sweets, pies and fruit. Father Kirill Vinogradov, dean of the Church of the Trinity in Lipin Bor guiding the Orthodox Centre of Social Support, wished everybody a Happy Easter! The participants of the event are very grateful to Father Superior of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery Ignaty who supports the centre.
