Sergey Vakhrukov, Deputy Minister of Regional Development of the Russian Federation, came to the Kirillo-Belozersky museum-reserve yesterday. Museum director Mikhail Sharomazov conducted a tour for him. The guest visited the exposition of Old Russian painting and embroidery, the exhibitions in the Refectory and the Church of the Presentation of the Virgin in the Temple.
Mr. Vakhrukov was impressed with everything: “I am responsible for the development of the Northwestern Federal District, and so I visit all its subjects. Now I have arrived in the Vologda region to solve the issues which are in the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Regional Development. I was pleased to accept the invitation of the Vologda Oblast Governor to make a visit to the unique Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery. I couldn’t go by it and I am not sorry for the visit at all. I was born in the ancient city of Yaroslavl and I know very well what the ancient icons are. It was very interesting to see really unique exhibits which have come down to us in such a beautiful monastery”, said Sergey Vakhrukov.
