Said Bitsiraev and Ivan Melnikov visited the Kirillo-Belozersky museum-reserve on April 27. The exhibition of their oeuvres was opened in the Vologda Picture Gallery the day before. Ivan Melnikov creates monumental and easel works, he is a member of the Union of Russian Artists, lives and works in Samara, heads a creative workshop “ARTA”. The subjects of love and nature interest him most of all. The sculptor shows psychologically complicated states of a person though the images of nature.
Said Bitsiraev is a Professor of the Painting Department in the Saint Petersburg State Art and Industry Academy named after Alexander von Stieglitz, a member of the Union of Russian Artists, a fill-fledged member of the Academy of Russian Literature and Fine Arts named after G.R. Derzhavin. Bright and joyful and sharply tragic lines of response to the events happening in the world exist in the painting of Said Bitsiraev simultaneously without crossing. He has painted epic canvasses connected with Chechnya, psychological portraits, vivid landscapes, free improvised compositions on the subjects of García Lorca’s poetry.
The visitors singed the guestbook: “It is a great piece of luck to touch the great heritage. We are grateful to the organizers of the exposition...” and expressed a wish to return to these sacred places to work en plein air.
