One more trip of the museum employees within the program “Museum – to the Vologda region” took place on April 24. This time they went to the Vashki district to conduct lessons in the comprehensive school named after F.A. Smirnov, Hero of the Soviet Union, and kindergartens of Lipin Bor. M.N. Travnikova held an interesting playing program “Magic Box” for boys and girls of the kindergartens. Elementary school pupils made Easter postcards and souvenirs “Felt boots” in the iris folding technique under the direction of L.N. Akimova and T.V. Usova. A.N. Kalikina told children about birch bark weaving and making of a Victory Day postcard. Fourth-form pupils created a folk doll using multi-coloured yarn together with N.G. Kuzmichyova. Besides, the schoolchildren attended lectures “Ivan the Terrible and the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery” and “Antiquities of the Belozersk Region” delivered by O.G. Kuzmichyova and “Lives of Saints of the Belozersk Region” given by N.I. Khrulyova.
The trip was fruitful and useful. The teaching staff of the school and the kindergartens thanked the museum employees and invited to come there again.
The visit to Lipin Bor was concluded with a meeting with employees of the Vashki Local History Museum. Its director V.N. Shestova told about exhibitions and projects of the museum.
