Schoolchildren often go to see the Kirillo-Belozersky museum-reserve. They visit our exhibitions and expositions and attend lessons in the clubs organized in the museum. But it will be the first time almost all pupils of the Kirillov secondary school will come to us within a very short period of time. It will take only three days to implement the project “Visiting the museum”. Its main objectives are to bring up children to love their small Motherland and to tell them about the culture of the Vologda and Belozersk region.
The first part of the scheduled events was held on February 6. Thematic tours were conduced for all fourth-form boys and girls. They learnt a lot of interesting things about the folk art of the Belozersk region, the craftsmanship of doll-making and Russian clay toys.
Museum employees gave lectures for pupils of the middle school. Fifth-formers got acquainted with the peasant way of life, in particular with the traditional Russian log house, in the conference hall. Sixth-formers went to the department of written sources and familiarized themselves with the history of the Russian book. Eighth-form boys and girls attended the lecture on the subject “Scientific library of the museum-reserve. The past and the present”.
Besides, two tours about the Russian stove and the town of Kirillov were conducted in the Museum of town and district history within the framework of the new project yesterday.
