The puppet play “Thumbelina” based on one of the most famous fairy tales of the Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen was presented by Russia’s Honoured Artist Elena Tadlova in our museum on January 7. Children of different age came to see this performance together with their parents.
“Thumbelina” is a one-man show. One actress plays all parts in it. Elena Tadlova has been working in the Vologda Puppet Theatre “Teremok” for more than 30 years. This puppet play was prepared for the 30th anniversary of her work in the theatre.
Elena Tadlova told us about it: “It was created by Russia’s Honoured Arts Workers from St. Petersburg – the director Igor Ignatiev and his wife, artist Anna Ignatieva who had worked in Vologda once. We have been friends for a long time. And they made this benefit performance for me. I like it very much. I presented it in many cities – Ulan Ude, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Orenburg, and Moscow. I play all parts in it myself and it is a dream of any actor to play several parts. I have come to Kirillov with “Thumbelina” for the first time. And I am very glad to be in such a place as the Kirillo-Belozersky museum-reserve at Christmas”.
Elena Tadlova presented her puppet play for small residents of Kirillov twice on that day. And it was a success.
