A traditional puppet-show of the Nativity took place in the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes on January 6, 7 and 8. Plenty of children, their parents and grandparents came to see it. They got in the atmosphere of the Nativity play which our ancestors used to see 100-150 years ago.
After the show, kids and adults attended a master-class and made a traditional Christmas present – a paper Nativity scene. It is a small cave with the infant Jesus resting in a manger, his mother Mary and Joseph. Shepherds and the Magi with their gifts are standing near the entrance. Adults helped their children to create such a present being inspired with the significance of the Nativity.
Employee of the museum Sergey Bunin gave an interesting lecture on the Christmas celebrations in the early 20th century, showed photographs of that time, told about traditions of Christmas celebrations in other countries nowadays. The guests learnt a lot of new and interesting things. And children were pleased to take the Christmas gift with them.
